Oh God, I remember those things. Just looking at this picture brings me back to the struggle of fighting those things in that Shadow Temple. Just like the Redead, they're one of those monsters that make you feel helpless when you confront them.

Yeah, they are definitely the creepiest enemy/ mini boss in the game. Did you ever notice how many references there are to hands in the whole series? its very strange and creepy. I wonder if there is some sort of meaning behind it?

I remember your line-art for this piece reading about your troubles in your comments, but though it looks busy you did quite well on the foreground and background color distinction than I had expected. What detail couldn't do, color made up for.

yeah i plan to make my pieces not less busy but able to get the feel of the character and the background as one, it'll be better off if i sketch out everything 1st instead of improvising the background. i improvise alot, but my next big projects will have a little more time put into mapping everyhing out. and thanx for the review.

I believe you can do alot with this one, he looks to be something like a failed experiment that was scrapped and turned into a scavenger telling from what he's holding in his hand. I particularly like the points applied to his robotic legs, how the head is attached, and his right hand.
You seem to have a rough idea on what your creatures look like and the bandages does make it look like he's patched up after being worked on.
Funny that you'd say that, as I mentioned that this was a instant idea, and it really just popped into my head, and I drew it. can you tell I like robots and morbid things? I like to think that he's eating his (It's?) creator or something.

Unique observation. I'm sure you used your artistic hand in changing his appearance no doubt which draws the concept of a certain surrealism or maybe symbolic. This looks like it would make an interesting character model for something of a twisted mystery or horror story.
Well, it's not my character, but an internet urban legend "Slenderman", a paranormal entity that stalks and kidnaps people, all while playing mind games. look it up, and watch Marble Hornets while you're at it. beware, it's VERY creepy.

You certainly did the job making him look insane. If you need help on doing parts like the hair I'd say referencing and observing is the best way to go. The more you look it up the clearer your ideas are going to be. I tend to google image different hairstyles whether they're drawn or photographed.
The practice of figurative drawing tends to help alot for those who have trouble with anatomy. It doesn't have to be drawn from live people as long you have the general shape or concept of what a body should look like. It looks like you have the just of it.
The rule of thumb for an artist is that the more you do sketches according to observations and study even if it from a mirror (which is a really good tip).

Oh, yeah, the hair is directly based off a google search. I'm glad that it seems to be original, as that's what I go for.

Interesting idea. I like how you incorporate the lines for wire and cable extensions. I also saw the Contemplator and have notice that the form of sketchiness is pretty good.
If you ever like to incorporate some human elements, you can do comparisons on human skeletal anatomy and the joints,gears, and moving parts of machines in which comes close to relations how movement works. Like for example, what artists did during the production of Terminator. I actually know a good reference source from a popular artist or artists from a book that does illustrations on cybernetics. I'll look for it and PM you the link.
thanks for the link and reference. those types of cybernetics based off of human joints is always a bonus (plus, i can't draw people, so learning musculature and skeletal stuff will be awesome to learn).

There's no shame in traditional art, plus I think hand-drawn material looks better when they're sketchy and in rough drafts. I really like this idea you're going with. The thought of a thinking machine does kinda gives the viewer an eerie feeling that something make not seem right or the fear of what they might do if they act on what its thinking.
Concepts such as that had been made into movies most definitely! It looks like you have potential in illustrating sci-fi and futuristic machinery.

Considering you're still new as to what you said I think you're doing pretty good. Just make sure you're able to control the depth, as long as you get the contrast right, and we're able to distinguish foreground from background you be okay.
Use shade and highlights to your advantage, it'll help shape the composition.
Yeah I understand shading and highlights, just using the tools and the layers, I get overwhelmed. End up drawing on the wrong layer. And I already am to far along to just undo what I did, where am I going with this? Lol I haven't slept I apologize if none of this makes any sense.

I really like how you occupy your space and used it to your advantage for this piece. Looks like it'll make an excellent wallpaper and I would definitely would like to see a large painting of this in a gallery.

Futuristic!
I like the atmospheric perspective! Since there is indeed a guy dressed in futuristic wear in a desert-like wasteland it really does remind me of a sci-fi movie called Dune. I'll definitely add this to my favorites.
