But....His name is not Zelda, It's Link.... :(

Still love this theme for this game though.

In the pet shop scene, whatever you do..Do NOT woffle-stomp the gerbil..
It'll crawl in your arse and die.

So there IS a pause button!

I didn't realize there was a pause button until I started writing a review. I also happen to notice there's a functional volume control, but there are no sound or music other than the volume tab sound. So with this said you're off to a good start, IT WORKS.

Not to be harsh, but I can't really consider this a demo because there isn't a start or a finish so I'm not even sure if I should give this a rating. Please do not rush to put up new material on NG, take the time to make a complete game whether it be a short or a long one. Also leave us instructions on how to play the game when you do release the final product.

If you want to keep people updated on your game's production please write an entry on your blog provided on your page, not this.

Stuck on question 1

Well, even if you only put this up for the enjoyment of your friends there's still no way to get to the other questions. The timer icon runs, but on the side it really reads 00:.
There's no way of going back or forward to the menu screen and one of the button selections doesn't work.
I think you have done well with the sound effects and that the test keeps record of the last result, but it still looks like it has a few things missing and maybe a couple of bugs to iron out.

Rattlerattle189 responds:

Yeah, i am trying to fix that bug... Sorry...

Its a start.

I'd give you a higher rating if there was more to it. I see that the side-scrolling and the movement of left and right is working okay, but other than that there's really nothing to be said about this other than that. There's no sprite animation, decent start though.
When you do make your next game make sure its complete, not everyone goes to Newgrounds to test games they also want to play it. You'll get positive feedback on how finished the game is.

When you make a game, keep in mind of the important stuff like sound effects, music, background and foreground, gameplay functions, and so forth. Take all this, apply it to your next game project, and take as much time as you need. A game doesn't have to be long to be a good one. See if you can make a game with a few stages and perhaps a small story to tie in for theming to make the game alittle more involving if you like. I would really like to see your version of a short finished game of Metroid. If there was something of an exploration game like Metroid in NG I would totally come back and play it many times over.

I hope this review helps you on your next project. Good luck.

stonedemokid117 responds:

Thanks for the feedback and like i said there was almost no effort put into this. Some things were bugging out when i was making this so it made it awkward for me. And i will be sure to put better stuff in my next project and will for sure be bigger longer and better than this one.

OMG!! Yes!!

Awesome! This is one of my favorite characters in the story! Finally get to hear what Zangeif truly sounds like! Thank you so much!

JuneLinMilliam responds:

Hey! I would say Capcom did a goob job with his music and english voice for the game. You are welcome and thanks for the review.

Lame over?

This game says "why are you so bad at this", its because maybe the game itself is bad?
I mean, I enjoy dodging the meteor things and shooting at them. I think you can do better with this, not necessarily newgrounds or the tutorials which can only help you out.

You don't have to be an artist, just worry about the little things to make the game better. Like adding sound effects, special effects, maybe better music thats more thrilling and goes with the theme perhaps. You can check out the audio portal for the best selection of music if you like. The gameplay is in the right direction, it only depends on what you do next with it. Good luck with the next project.

DeathByStarfish responds:

Agreed. Doing better is a must. Sound for everything is gonna happen.

Kill da wabbit!

The game is pretty good, I love the costume selection and the weapon select.
For those who have trouble with the second stage, using the block is key, even for the second boss it'll help you out lots.

A is for attack, S is to jump, D is to block.

If you hold A long enough you use a special, if you tap A and S you can chain an aerial combo.

Excellent

I happen to be an art major, so for me playing a game like this is most beneficial even to those with art history classes. Some of my favorite paintings are in here too.

I've got to ask, the song that's played when the first painting appears past the difficulty setting, what was it called?
Thanks.

mrty responds:

I didn't list the first song because I think it's removed. Anyway, the song is "Sands of Saharah" by Wooormy, as also listed in the credits.

I hate cats too..

..but surely you can do better with the art and animation. It would've been a little funny if it was a clip art of a cat getting blown up or something, you know just try something different.

Pickilow responds:

Blowing up eh?

Say!! I be dat artist.. Important Notice: If you have a problem with me please write it nicely on a piece of paper, put it in an envelope, fold it up and shove it up your ass.
